Can anybody tell me what's the function of this enzyme? Thanks

It's often used after PCR to get rid of template DNA. DpnI only cuts methylated DNA, so PCR products are untouched. Template DNA on the other hand gets cut to shreds. This is very important if your template DNA is a plasmid and you want to do some cloning and transformation....
