BioForum _ Immunology _ Antigenicity of GST-tag.

Hi,
I produced polyclonal antibody against GST fusion protein. The polyclonal antibody that I got has a good specificity to my protein, but react poorly with GST protein. Does anybody know why GST is not a good antigen or have the same experience? Thanks in advance.

I usually produce monoclonal antibodies using GST fusion protein; in my experience, GST is not so immunogenic, even after multiple injections of the recombinant protein; the GST we have in the fusion proteins is from Schistosoma j.
