ANTIBLEACHING COCKTAILS

Materials

1. 1,4-diazabicyclo[2,2,2]octane (DABCO; Sigma D-2522).

2. Tris-HCl stock, pH 8.5-9.0.

3. p-phenylenediamine (Sigma P-6001).

4. n-propyl gallate (Sigma P-3130).

5. Glycerol.

Recipes

1. 20 mg/ml DABCO, 10 mM Tris-HCl.

2. 100 mg/ml DABCO, 100 mM Tris-HCl.

3. 100 mg/ml DABCO, 1 mg/ml p-phenylenediamine, 1 mg/ml n-propyl gallate,

100 mM Tris-HCl.

4. Glycerol (50% to 80%) can be included. Works better and prevents samples from drying out.
