Product Description	pEXTRA is designed for the inducible expression of shRNA in cultured cells. pEXTRA gives you the unique ability to induce shRNA expression and gene knockdown within your cell-line of choice. This vector contains two elements; the TetO1 operator, inserted upstream of the H1 polymerase III promoter, and a copy of the TetR gene. In the absence of tetracycline, TetR binds to the TetO1 operator sequence downstream of the HI promoter. This prevents shRNA transcription and inhibits the knockdown of any gene that the shRNA is designed against. In the presence of tetracycline, this inhibition is relieved and shRNA transcription and consequent knockdown of your target gene is achieved.
