Does anyone know what causes EMSA probes to make U-shaped smears.
The bands look okay, but are also a little smeary.

according to Pierce Chemical, too much glycerol will cause a u-shaped band. how much glycerol is in your binding buffer? perhaps if you scale it back a bit that will help
