High quality gDNA - need recommendation for purification method (Aug/24/2005 )

Hi everyone,

I have been using Qiagen's DNeasy DNA purification kit to obtain genomic DNA from rodent liver samples and have had trouble with shearing. As the DNA will be used for long range PCR, I need high quality genomic DNA. Can anyone recommend a menthod or kit for this purpose. Thanks so much!

The company I work for, Cortex Biochem, has a genomic DNA kit that purifies DNA without columns or centrifuge, so there is no shearing. Also, it doesn't use any alcohols or PCR inhibitors, so you can go straight to PCR without an extra step. The DNA quality is just as good as using Qiagen's kit, if not better.
