No UTR in a transcript? - (Nov/09/2008 )

Hi all,
I found an interesting question. On TAIR, there is a sequence viewer, it can tell you the UTR(Red color), Intron(blue), exon(orange)....I found that my gene do not have the 5' or 3' untranslated region. The full length cDNA start with ATG. Is that very common in the arabidopsis gene? Or just they did not find the UTR, but there is always a UTR before the start codon?

Thanks!!

Most likely they just didn't find a cDNA for your gene. You could do 5' or 3' race on your own to find the UTRs.
