Finding genes in a region - have two snps, need genes in between (Mar/12/2008 )
Hello all,
I have 13 different regions of interest flanked by 2 SNPs each. Is there anywhere I can just plug in these two snps as boundaries and get a list of genes included in that region? I've tried NCBI, but not sure if I'm doing it right. When I type in the two snps in the mapviewer area, one snp comes up on the map, so not sure if the other is being recognized as the other boundary of the region.
Thanks in advance!
You cannot use two SNP "rsxxxxx - rsxxxxx" as a range query. You can first get the chromosome position by searching individual SNPs and then pull out the genes between two SNPs by searching a range e.g. "chr3:161,603,318-161,603,818". You can do this at the UCSC genome database http://genome.ucsc.edu/cgi-bin/hgGateway?o...man&db=hg18
