Identifying bacteria by Biochemical testings - (Jan/17/2008 )

Dear all,

I'm extracting an unknown bacteria genome to send its 16s for sequening. In the mean time, I need to do some biochemical tests to zero down to its genus level.

It Gram negative, catalase negative, non-lactose fermenting. Had problems with the oxidase reagent (will redo). The lab doesn't have a test kit and I wanted to do it manually.

Are there suggestions as to which tests to run beginning from here?

Thanks people.

Where did you get it? That's the biggest clue of all. smile.gif
