Hi,

can somebody tell me for how long I can store tissue (or cells) that I fixed with 4% Paraformaldehyde, given that I want to use it for immunocytochemistry.
Do most antigens degrade quickly even @ 4C.

Ok, any wisdom on this would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know about tissues, but for cells I can left them at 4oC (after fixation) for about a week. But that is rare. I usually do IF the day after or maybe over the weekend. I avoid doing IF after leaving cells there for more than a week, though, so I can't say about longer time.
