Question about stability of bacteria solution - (Aug/25/2006 )

Hi,

I have grown some transformed bacteria (E. coli) in LB containing ampicillin overnight. After doing mini-prep and extracting DNA plasmids, I put those bacteria in the 4 degree refrigerator. Usually I take some of these bacteria to grow for maxi-prep on the same day. But this time I want to sequence the plasmids before moving on to maxi-prep. My question is if the bacteria can stay stable for several (~3) days in the 4 degree refrigerator.

it's probably OK, but best would be to grow an overnight plate and store it in the fridge that way.

yes, or you can just add glycerol and keep at -80!
