DNA extraction from mosquito blood meal - (Jan/04/2006 )

Help - I can't extract DNA from a mammalian derived mosquito blood meal. There seems to be little DNA in enucleated blood when blood volumes are 1-3 microliters. Any suggestiuons?

Are you trying to get the DNA of the lymphozytes in the blood the mosquito sucked? As blood consists mostly out of erythrocytes and those are at least for humans without any nucleus I wonder where else you would like to get the DNA from?
And lymphozytes or monocyte-dervived cells are rare - especially in such tiny amounts of blood. ohmy.gif
