Does RNA degradate in the refridgerator (4C)? - (Nov/18/2005 )

I left my precious RNA accidentily in the refridgerator at 4 degrees C instead of at -20 in the freezer. Do you think that it degraded in just one day?

Run a gel of it, or do an RT-PCR that in your hands always works (and include a positive control).

What is it dissolved in and how did you purify it? That will determine how clean it is and how stable it is.

RNA dssolved in formamide is more stable than in nuclease free H2O

I think the RNA in nuclease-free water should be kept at -70 instead of -20, right?
Have you run a gel to check? Could you please just let me know whether it degraded in just 1 day?

It didn't degrade. Able to run PCR and get the bands we are looking for.
