Genomic material extraction from a vaccine - (May/27/2009 )

Hi... We are battling to extract viral RNA directly from a live attenuated vaccine. It is a dsRNA virus. I know that the viral titre is very low in the vaccine, but we are not getting anything at all. We have tried Trizol and EZNA Viral RNA Extraction Kits slighty modified each time, but to know avail. Has anyone attempted something like this before? Or any comments or suggestions? Much appreciated!

I recently heard about a new equipment called Aurora which seems to have great success in concentrating really low quantities of DNA from contaminated samples. I think the company is called Boreal Genomics. Good Luck!!!
