homoloques sequence - (Dec/08/2010 )

I'm looking for the homolog sequence for the ARR22 gene(Arabidopsis) in tomato plant. I have found it in tomato genomic database where it also used the same gene's name, ARR22. however, when I did the aligment between these 2 sequences (using CDs sequence, genomic sequence, and protein sequence), the similarity is just 33.1%. What does that mean? are they have a good similarity or not?

33% is relatively low similarity, but seeing as Arabidopsis and tomato are not very closely related, this is not too surprising. Have you tried BLAST searching for the gene?
